“The painter has the Universe in their mind and hands.”
Leonardo da Vinci
In the Art Department we believe that all students should enjoy creating and looking at art. We aim to give our pupils opportunities to create art in a variety of media and explore ideas and processes from a range of periods and cultures. Central to our lessons is developing an appreciation of artists, where pupils are asked to look at different works and form their own opinions.
As part of our KS3 Art curriculum, students learn the basic core skills such as colour theory and observation drawing. Our lessons are closely linked with whole-school projects and pupils are taught to use a range of media, such as pencil, watercolour, charcoal, pastels and photography.
