Nimco Ali OBE

Nimco Ali OBE is a social activist, co-founder and CEO of the Five Foundation, the global partnership to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and international campaigner for equality.

She visited LEA and talked about her work and gave an empowering speech to all our students, "each and every one of you can change this country and you could all be the next prime minister”.

In 2020, she was appointed as the United Kingdom’s Independent Government Adviser for Tackling Violence against Women and Girls.

Nimco was awarded an International Award by Rev. Jesse Jackson for her excellent work in ending FGM.
