Go Ape
Year 8 students went on a Go Ape trip to experience zip lining at high altitudes in Chessington. Students were definitely up in the trees for this trip.
Students climbed three different zip lining courses, which had their own challenges and level of difficulty. Some students faced their fear of heights. At times students stopped and gave up, but came back to try again.
Some students scrambled through rope nets, swung across logs and pulled along ropes clearing long distances. The finale was a safe free fall from the highest point in the trees. Tarzans and Janes could be heard singing in decrescendo as their feet landed safely on the ground!
Students demonstrated courage and determination even at times getting stuck, students pulled through feeling empowered by overcoming their fear of heights. One student said, "I have never done this in my entire life. You know, I just realised, if anyone can do it, so can I!’’.
